Pastel on prepared masonite
I started this piece working en plein air in Cerrillos, New Mexico. I am drawn to the abstract shapes created by intersecting roof lines commonly found in the Southwest. The faded lettering on the side of one of the buildings made this scene irresistible to me.
Original has sold.
